Standard High School Graduation Requirements
PROGRAM OF STUDIES
The Program of Studies describes the course offerings at
Saint Clement Junior/Senior High School from which selections may be made to
meet the particular need of each student. Each freshman must carry seven
courses; sophomore, junior, and senior students take a program of six courses
with the option of adding a seventh. Individuals should base course selection
on personal ability, interests and aptitude as well as the requirements of a
well balanced, college preparatory education. Serious discussions with parents,
teachers, and counselors are vital in the important process of selecting
courses.
We urge all students to pursue a program that is as demanding and
challenging as possible in order to: 1) develop their God-given talents to the
fullest, 2) increase their chances for admission to the college of their
choice, and 3) expand their potential for success in college and life. Students
who limit themselves to meeting only the basic requirements in a minimal
fashion may reduce their chances for college admission and will find the
transition to college more difficult.
