Marking System
All subjects are evaluated by letter grade with the exception of physical education,

B+ = 87-89
B = 84-86
B- = 80-83
C+ = 77-79
C = 74-76
C- = 70-73
D+ = 67-69
D = 64-66
D- = 60-63
E = 55-59

Special Curriculum Feature
A forty (40) hour community service program which is required of students was established
to reflect the school’s philosophy that, along with stimulating the student’s intellectual,
physical, social and spiritual development, the school also has an obligation to
provide the student with the opportunity to experience the joy and fulfillment of
giving and serving others. It is the primary goal of this program that each student
participant comes to a deeper understanding and appreciation of themselves, and
the potential for personal achievement and growth through service to others.
Grade Point Average and Class Rank
The grade point average (GPA) is calculated at the end of the semester when the
grade point values are assigned to the final marks for semester courses, and at
the end of the year when final marks for full year courses are assigned. Class Rank
is determined based upon the GPA of the student in a particular grade level. The
class rank is calculated after the end of the semester and at the end of the year.
Graduates
Over a number of years the average percent of students going on to college has been
about 90%, with about 70% going on to four-year colleges or universities and about
20% going on to two-year colleges and technical school. Each year a few students
select military service or union training and some go directly into the workforce.
Recent graduates have attended colleges including Boston College, Boston University,
Curry College, Emmanuel College, Fordham University, Framingham State College, Massachusetts
College of Pharmacy, Merrimack College, Northeastern University, Salem State College,
Suffolk University and The University of Massachusetts Amherst and Boston.
